LocalHop’s new SMS notification feature allows patrons to receive real-time updates on event registrations and room reservations, providing a seamless experience for managing their bookings. This guide details how patrons can opt in to receive SMS notifications, re-subscribe if they accidentally opt out, and the types of messages they can expect.
Opting In to SMS Notifications
To begin receiving SMS notifications, patrons need to follow a simple opt-in process after providing their phone number for an event or room reservation.
Steps for New Subscribers:
1. Enter Phone Number: Patrons should provide their phone number during the event registration or room reservation process.
2. Opt-In Confirmation Text: Once a phone number is associated with an event or reservation, patrons will receive a text asking them to confirm their subscription.
3. Reply “YES” to Opt In: Patrons need to reply with “YES” to confirm their subscription.
4. Confirmation of Opt-In: After replying “YES,” patrons will receive a confirmation message stating:
“Thanks! Message & data rates apply. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help; STOP to cancel. https://getlocalhop.com/tos-policy/”
5. Reservation/Event Details: Following the confirmation, patrons will receive recurring messages with details or reminders regarding their event or room booking.
All future notifications related to reservations and events will be sent from LocalHop’s dedicated SMS number: 855-577-0141.
Re-Opting In After Opting Out
If a patron accidentally opts out or decides to re-subscribe, they can easily opt back in by following the steps below.
Re-Opt-In Process:
1. Text “START” or “UNSTOP”: Patrons who have unsubscribed and wish to re-subscribe need to text “START” or “UNSTOP” to 855-577-0141.
2. Confirmation Message: Once they’ve sent the text, patrons will receive a message confirming their re-subscription:
“You have successfully been re-subscribed to messages from this number. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg&Data rates may apply.”
