Welcome to the Graveyard
Brenda Sullivan, co-founder of Gravestone Girls, will be chronicling cemetery art, history, & symbolism. From the 17 & 18th century colonial New England burial grounds, through the rural cemetery movement of the 19th century & into 21st century locations, the program examines why we have cemeteries & gravestones, why they look like they do & how styles & art have evolved over almost 400 years. This program is hosted in partnership with Marshall Historical Society & Putnam District Library. Registration required, click "More Information" to register; program hosted virtually via Zoom. (Contact the library at least a couple of days prior to the event if you are not familiar with Zoom.) https://www.yourmdl.org/event/welcome-to-the-graveyard/
