Southfield, MI

Southfield is a city in Oakland County, Southeast Michigan. According to the 2010 census, the city had a population of 71,739. In 1823, John Daniels was the first to settle in the area. Southfield is a commercial and businesses center for Metro Detroit, but it has 775 acres of parks, nature preserves, and historic properties. Southfield is named for being the “south fields” of Bloomfield Township. It is known for its “Golden Triangle”, which is a collection of five golden skyscrapers. Southfield’s motto is “The Center of it All”. Popular attractions are Park West Gallery, Star Theatres Southfield, and Detroit Kid City. Visitors will enjoy events, such as Winterfest, Fishing Derby, and the Taste of Southfield.
