SMART TOWNS: Declaration of Independence: The Words Heard Around the World

Dr. John Todd of Rochester University will discuss the origins of the Declaration of Independence, its purposes, and how it changed the world. Dr. Todd earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Georgetown Law. He has taught at Rochester University since 1979 and is a member of the Federalist Society and National Association of Scholars.
Smart Towns is a lifelong learning program led by local educational organizations. The Smart Towns partners include Rochester University, Oakland University, the Rochester-Avon Historical Society, the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm, Meadow Brook Hall, and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. Together the Smart Towns partners provide a unique series of programs exploring one theme or topic per year. Lectures are presented by experts in their fields of study.
