The city of Clawson has a small-town atmosphere and is known as the little city with a big heart. Clawson is in Oakland County, Michigan in the United States and is part of the Detroit metropolitan area with a population of 11,970. It has been recognized as a Tree City USA and is committed to environmental suitability. The city’s name is actually a misspelling of a local settler’s name, John Lawson. Some things to do in Clawson include Clawson City Park, Clawson Historical Museum, and the Red Oaks Waterpark.
