Detroit native Karin Risko is the owner of City Tour Detroit. She enjoys learning about new developments underway in the city, as well as continually uncovering juicy historical tidbits. Karin estimates she has given over 1,000 tours of the city, probably a low estimate, yet she never gets tired of telling Detroit’s story. Whether in person or through this book, Karin feels privileged to share Detroit’s story with so many people from around the world. At the age when she should be thinking about retiring, talking up Detroit keeps Karin energized and young. She’s constantly looking for ways to keep up with the growing demand for tours in the city and accommodate all those who want to visit. She hopes this book will help visitors and locals navigate the city and fully appreciate Detroit’s past and present.
